Hey Gang, kind of forgot about updating this journal with the latest Watch Me Draws (I'm just gonna type WMD from now on... cool?) Well, yea. So I'm just gonna kind of re-introduce the channel to one followers who are unaware and just in general talk about changes to the channel. Btw I'm StevRayBro on Youtube. I have a channel that features speed paints, everything you see on this deviant art account. Additionally I'm now doing animations. Nothing too big, mostly 30 seconds bits as I get better at doing so and grow bigger.
Here's the first two short animations;
Oh Chell! Portal Animation
Twerk It! Miley Cyrus + Amanda Bynes Animation
To be hoenst, they're short little animations I did in two or three days a piece. Portal has a lot of looped frames and is mostly audio heavy. Could be better. And the Twerk video it seems random I'm happy with the "layers" ranging from not-so-subtle (but my irl friends missed it) visual gags parodying Miley's latest video's symbolism; to the typical punchline, to internet humor (weird faces; Mickey Mouse and jump-joke Lobster)."
I promise the videos will get better.
Watch Me Draw Format Change.
Additionally, people have noticed that the WMD's are getting shorter. The first two videos are 5 minutes long, then 3 minutes, and now 1 minute. The reason is because of retention rates. Very few make it halfway through the video; some jump through. The shorter videos decrease boredom and short attention spans. I think they're typically more entertaining to the general viewer.
Now these a great for the general users, but I've got a lot of long term followers and younger artist who watch me videos to pick up techniques got disappointed because they prefer the longer videos. This is the weird thing I learned, usually to appeal the largest crowd possible, you're going to run into the more "hardcore" fans who want it one way. While I feel this change is the best for the channel itself, I can understand why some feels this way; so I'm making 2 videos; a second that is longer but with Commentary!
I feel like the commentary will make the video be different enough without everything thinking or feeling like I'm trying to double dipping because its using the footage of one drawing into two videos. Iv'e done this with Ninja Sex Party and Harley & Ivy; but originally they were unlisted videos. You had to read the descriptions to find them. (Fun Fact: You-tubers can't read descriptions...) But I had some complaints that the video should be in their feed. So I kind of gave.
Sappy Moment: I do care about my followers; I'm deeply honored and happy to find this many people are into my stuff enough to follow me on these sites. And I make a lot of my content for them. I'm not into a lot of the contents of the Watch Me Draw's, and I honestly would draw more of the suggestions if the comments weren't mostly "you got this wrong" so now I feel like I have to play the game or watch the movie before doing anything. But I do try and please most.
