The Mayer of Townsville

Knack (PS4)
* Please note, gonna rant about monetization on Youtube. Its not because I'm money hungry, its just if I'm making money on it, I can spend more time making content and animations instead of working on other things for money. You dig?*
Some of you guys may know that I dropped my partnership on Youtube, because it wasn't a very good deal. Not only was I getting a fraction of the ad revenue on my videos, but the what was being fraction was an already fractioned before my partner got to it. You can actually make more money through Google Adsense on your own than through partner ads.
Basically, most partnerships will ask for a 30% cut from your revenue for letting you be an partner. That 30% is supposed to go to them in exchange for promoting you and helping you out. For Makers, they help get you a crew to film if you live close. For some they force popular youtubers to do crossovers or promote other youtubes on their channel; be it commenting on a video, liking and sharing a video, or just talking about it in their own videos. And for some partnerships that 30% is well worth it.
For my partnership, I wasn't get any of that from the first party. Instead I was getting it from Animeme, which I animate for. It was part of the agreement for me to work on it. So it didn't make much sense for me to stay with a partner, if they were taking the 30% for not doing anything.
Though, as a partner, its way more easier to get videos monetized. Infact, if it doesn't have 3rd Party music, its more or less ok to put what ever you want, as long as no one flags it. Now without the partnership, I'm finding that its much harder to get videos Monetized. Unlike the partners who get kind of introuble if caught, Google makes you proove you own ALL The material in the video before even letting you go near adsense. Sometimes.
Here's how the above videos work;
The Mayer of Townsville went up without a hitch, monetized and everything. No questions asked.
Lollipop Chainsaw wanted me to prove that I own the music rights to an original song. Which I gave them email showing that I know the guy who made it and gave me permission to use it. Then they asked me to get the composer to sign something, which he did. Then 5 days after getting what will probably be my main set of views; it was monetized.
Knack, wanted to prove the same thing. But then got a second request to prove I own the visuals of the video. Strange for a video of me drawing stuff. I just assume that they wanted the proof I own the Adobe Software. Then they asked me to prove again if I own the rights to my visuals. Which were all original to my video. Then they wanted prove that I got permission from Sony to draw Knack.
I just don't get it. Why is it okay to draw other fan art, but not some. Or is Fan art = bad, and the other 7 videos that were allowed without a hitch just approved by someone who doesn't care? Or are the others videos being denied by someone having a bad day?

10 Commissions
Hey Party People;
Commissions are officially open. More of less, I had to spend a lot of money on my vehicle the last month; replaced a starter and now new tires. Collectively that was over 1,000 dollars; plus I just moved, replaced furniture, and to top it all off, I teach for a living so I’m not working for a few weeks. I’m currently opening up 10 slots for $50 dollar commissions. 50 dollars include a finished drawing of a character and a simple background. If you want a more elaborate background we can talk on price; or if you want more than one character its $25 for each additional character.
TL;DR Version;
$ 50 - Full Colo

One a side note if I started a Patreon! Its kind of like a Kickstarter but its on-going and it helps artist by having fans support them based on the videos they create. Its a really cool and I've got'n two people to support me. Which is more than I thought I ever would. But I wanted to throw out the link to see if anyone is interesting in helping me! There's some cool rewards for donating too!
Thank you!
Thanks for all the birthday wishes! And for the fan art. You guys are awesome!

It does sound like a hassle. :/ The whole fan-art copyright thing is all murky and confusing.
I would get confused as to whether if it's okay or not to sell artwork of popular cartoon characters in your own style. I figured, if you want to make money off of art, you might as well sell your own original artwork that way you won't run into these type of issues.
I think it's great that you want to earn money for your work. I don't believe you're getting money to be greedy but to earn money to make a living.
I don't know why some people assume that just because someone has ads on their videos automatically makes them a sellout, which is not true. I mean, yeah, I bet there are some greedy people out there but not everyone is like that.
